Maternity Bras

Becoming a mother is one of the greatest experiences that will ever happen in your life. I am a mother of two beautiful children one boy and one girl. I love nothing or no one more than I love my children. Until you hold your baby in your arms you can never understand that kind of love. I had two completely different pregnancies one was more of a breeze while the other was more difficult. With my son, I had no morning sickness and I only gained 5 pounds because I was going through a lot of stress during this time with his father who I was separated from because he was cheating on me. During all of this, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I was sent to the hospital 6 different times by my doctor because when I went in for my normal checkups my blood pressure would be up to the point my doctor was very concerned. So I would go to the hospital and spend about 6 hours there while they checked my blood and had me hooked up to monitors so they could check his movement and heartbeat.

Jogging and sports bras

Today I saw a lady jogging and I could tell without a doubt that she was not wearing a sports bra. One reason women need to wear sports bras is to protect their breasts from hurting. As you run your breasts bounce up and down pretty hard and it can make them hurt and it makes you feel uncomfortable after the run.  Next time you go out for a run think about how uncomfortable it can be if you don't wear a sports bra. I recommend a sports bra that has an underwire. The underwire gives you more support so your breasts won't bounce as much. When I was working we sold a lot of Champion brand sports bras with the underwire. I got a lot of good feedback on the Champion bras with underwire. I had some ladies that would only wear the Champion sports bras and nothing else. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GXA95S/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=httpgetfitted-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B004GXA95S&linkId=b3e5aec09a19b89bccc7aece47440492 ht

Bra straps

I have found that in my work there is a lot of women who have problems with bra straps. One of the problems that women have with bra straps is the width of the strap. Straps that are narrow have a tendency to dig into a women's shoulder especially if they are large breasted. I helped women who had deep indents in there shoulders so much so that they looked painful.  One bra that I recommended for women were the Playtex 18 hour bra (style #4693) that was non-underwire but had a really wide padded strap. The only problem with this particular bra was that it was very 50's or 60's looking. If the women were really big breasted it made their breasts look like torpedoes but it was at the time the only one that really helped to keep the strap from digging into the shoulder.  As time went on bra makers started to catch up with the times and in doing so started making bras that were sexier. The other bra that was popular at the time was a new Bali bra that had gel in the stra

Bras for plus size ladies

I was talking to a lady this afternoon and she was pointing out how her cup size is an I and she has a hard time finding her band size.   She was telling me that when she goes shopping at plus size stores she can find her cup size but not the band. Normally she finds her cup size but the band is a size 44 or 46 and She is looking for a size 38 band. It is really hard to find a smaller band when you have a big bosom. I don't think that the bra industry thinks that women can have big breasts and be smaller figured. Here are some places to check out for some plus size bras:  Playtex 18 hour bra original comfort strap https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007YR9Z8/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=httpgetfitted-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0007YR9Z8&linkId=586bd9706516e20b4d6f95bb6de4b5a1 Just my size women's super sleek front closure bra https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJQN938/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=httpgetfit

Why Sports Bras

There are many women out there that think they don't need a sports bra. Well, think again!  Sports bras are important because of the support they give to a woman's breasts. When you are working out and you don't wear a sports bra your breasts will bounce around. Depending what size bra you are bouncing around can really hurt. When you are at the gym the last thing you really want is to have people looking at you because your breasts are flopping around. If you want that kind of attention then, by all means, do it but if not then purchase a sports bra. I used to fit woman for bras and sports bras. One of my favorite brands is Champion. Champion has different styles and different support levels.  If you will be doing something like yoga then you want a sports bra with a moderate support, but if you are running on a treadmill or doing aerobics then you want a stronger support.  We have this lady that stands on the corner by an intersection. She jumps up and down dan

Not Much More

I know I haven't written a post in awhile because I don't know what else I can say about bra fitting. One thing that I can tell you is when you measure yourself for a bra you want to do the following: 1. Wrap the measuring tape under your breasts and whatever number that you get you want to add five to it. Don't ask me why I just learned it that way and it always worked for me when I was doing fittings. The number that you get after you add the five is your band size. If you are between sizes like say you get a 35 this just means that you could wear a 34c or a 36b. You go down in band size and go up in cup size and you go up in the band and down in the cup. 2. To get the cup size keep the measuring tape across your back don't move the tape up or down just put the ends across your breasts and whatever number you get will be your cup size. If you are one number up from your band size then you are a A cup if two numbers then you are a b and so on and so on. 3. When

No More Nearly Sizes

I found out recently that a name brand bra that was available for women or girls that are not that big in the breast department is not being made anymore.  This bra brand was called Playtex thank goodness it fits. This brand carried sizes for all the nearly size women or girls. This brand was perfect for the smaller breasted women and girls.  I went to buy a regular bra for my nine-year-old daughter. She needs a size 36A the problem with regular bras is the bigger the band size the bigger the cup size. I think that it is so stupid that bra brands think that if you need a bigger band size then you are going to need a bigger cup size. This is not always the case.  In my work as a bra measure specialist, I came across a lot of smaller breasted women that were bigger in the band and not in the cup. To bad that this has stopped being made. I am sure there are other brands that make these but I have yet to find them.
